Born 13 September 1964 in Agde, France.

Based in Montpellier, in the Languedoc, in the space of just a few years the Pourcel brothers have become two of the very best ambassadors of French fine food. In 2010, they were indeed selected to represent the French gastronomy (which now appears on the Unesco World Intangible Heritage list) in the French Pavilion at Shanghai World Expo, with their 6Sens restaurant, during six months. A restaurant concept that met great success.

Jacques & Laurent Pourcel, twin sons of a local wine grower, grew up by the Mediterranean sea. They are passionate about their profession. Back in 1988, along with their associate Olivier Château, they created Le Jardin des Sens in Montpellier, a Michelin starred gastronomic restaurant known for its Mediterranean creative, contemporary and refined cuisine.

In 2000, working from their Montpellier restaurant, the two brothers embarked on an international expansion which places them amongst the most active chefs in the world. They are famous for their Southern inspired cuisine, which pushes back the culinary frontiers while remaining faithful to traditions. In their eye, everything is food for thought: thanks to their career, they enjoy total creativity freedom.

Their gastronomic footprint is found in Paris, Shanghai, Bangkok, Tokyo, Marrakesh, Algiers, Beirut and many other places in the world. In Paris, with their Maison Blanche restaurant, and in Cannes with SeaSens. They designed an ethnical, evolutionary cuisine.

For 10 years now, Le Jardin des Sens has become a catering group that nowadays manages approximately twenty units with 600 employees in the world. However, the Pourcel brothers and their associate Olivier Château are willing to carry on their successful path: they project to turn their Montpellier hotel into Le Jardin des Sens & Spa (2013) and to develop a hotel and restaurant resort within the Odysseum business park in Montpellier (2014).
